Long lines today (about 15 minutes wait) for most of the day. The snow was pretty good however.

The recent snow helped them out and got some more terrain open. Pretty long line for the summit triple in the morning, but it cleared out after lunch. Bear Peak was very nice, with the trails that were open having packed powder on top and hard pack underneath the fresh snow. Blasting snow on a few runs throughout the day too. Overall worth a stop if you have a pass, otherwise wait until later in the season for more to open up!

Could not ask for a better first day of the season. It pretty much snowed for two days straight and there was fresh snow to be found everywhere all day long. This little mountain packs a big punch and has some of the best terrain in southern New England. Unless you disdain slow double chairs, why spend $144 for a lift ticket at Stratton when you can ski Magic for $74

Packed powder for most of the mountain with some ice patches on the more trafficked trails. Some small powder stashes can be found throughout the mountain though, with lots of snowmaking whales. Front 5 were especially icy, but still skiable. Definitely looks like they will be getting more open soon with the mount of snowmaking going on. Overall the typical mid January day out on the mountain!

Conditions yesterday overall were decent, but it varied a lot all over the mountain. Some trails were just downright firm, others were firm with some packed snow on top, and others were quite good.

Snowboarded Dec 28-30 - like other review said Christmas rain really hurt the mountain but overall still good groomed runs. And short/ no lift lines if u skipped the gondola. Now need to hope for some snow storms to fill in the rest of the mountain and the woods.

First time here. Lots of untracked powder and stashes to be found. Love this place and the vibe. Great steeps for a small hill. No long run out. Slow chairlifts to let your legs recoup. Can’t wait to come back.

The recent storm really helped them out! The whole Front 5 area is open and well covered with some huge whalebacks to play on. The upper mountain is mostly open, with trails mostly packed powder there. Mid to lower mountain got icy as the day went on, especially on Bypass and Extension. There were still some powder pockets to be found, especially along the Front 5! Overall great early season conditions

Upper mountain is pretty decent considering the time of year. Lower mountain has a few dirt spots showing through but most can be avoided. Glad I waited to break out the new skis but still had a great day.

Great snow today on opening day. It hasn't had a chance to melt and refreeze yet, so there was no ice to be found.

Great conditions right now with soft snow across the area. Most everything is open, however the steeper trails do have dirt patches and rocks showing. The cruisers are very well covered though and even the glades are pretty nice. Snow showers at the top allude to the snow storm coming Thursday, which should fill in the dirt spots. Overall great day and there should be plenty more to come.

Amazing bluebird day with 100% open. The Winslow side was purrrrrfect. Every trail was delicious. Groomers, glades, whatever. It was simply amazing. They were having race finals on the Holt side so it was crowded thee and with the sun shining bright on that side, it got a little sticky. But if you stayed on the shadow part of the trail, it was awesome. Superb day and one amazing place

Best powder days I’ve had at jay and I’ve had many. What an epic weekend. Knee deep stashes everywhere. There was so much pow I’ve found lines and glades I didn’t even know existed yet. Flyer and tram were closed on Saturday but you could hike a bit to hit that side. Jay is the BEST

Two days in a row the snow has been decent. EVEN on a Saturday night ice was hard to find. 7” of snow on Friday night and tons of work by mountain ops made a great weekend!!

Spent day at Killington. No new snow in about a week, but trail conditions were pretty good. By 2pm trails were pretty scraped off to the sides with ice and hard pack down the middle. A few trails were too thinly covered for my taste. Clouds made it very difficult to pick up slope contours near the top (not their fault). Bear Mt. lift wasn’t spinning which created lines. Summit Gondola broke down so that sucked for a little while.

Spent the week at Gore. Three days of skiing and lots of heat runs. Most trails or well groomed and plenty to spend time on. Had a great time. No crowds and plenty to do.

Up early on the 19th to catch the little 3” that fell the day before. Nice early morning runs on Paradise and Dreamweaver. Same with Lazy mile. Lines OK, the. Broke for early lunch and sun came out and glazed the hills. With the holiday weekend still in swing many more people on the slopes in the afternoon. Remained cold throughout the day, so runs became overcrowded and icy. Called it quits around 2:30pm as hill becoming too dangerous for our skill level. Ice and crowds did us in, but beautiful morning. Will come again.
