Snow Reporter Comments: January 22nd, 1:34 PM Good afternoon riders and skiers! Another overnight dusting, layered on top of this week’s snow and wind‑loaded into deep powder pockets, has freshened the mountain once again. Plus, we're expecting another refill tonight bringing 3 or more inches of fresh snow! Tomorrow, temps are taking a plunge and are projected to settle in the mid to high teens at the base and low single digits at the summit. The forecast calls for partly sunny skies, along with strong winds bringing snow squalls across the mountain, pushing fresh snow to the edge of trails forming deep pockets of powder. Snowmaking at Lincoln Peak is firing on Birdland, Stein's, and Snowball; these trails remain open so please use caution around snowmaking as conditions vary and visibility can be low. We will be getting down on over 459 skiable acres served by 13 lifts and 108 open trails, 39 of which received fresh grooming overnight. Ripcord received a fresh layer of corduroy for all your carving desires. The longest high-speed chairlift in the U.S., Slide Brook Express, will be spinning again today, for a beautiful journey between mountains, tomorrow this lift may be affected by cold temps. All natural terrain is recommended for experts only, as conditions are variable. Tomorrow, the trails Inverness and Lower Birdland will be closed to the public due to events. Operations have moved back to weekday hours, meaning GMX kicks things off loading at 8:00 AM, followed by all other scheduled lifts at 9:00 AM, with the exception of Slide Brook Express expected for a 10:00 AM loading.
