Snow Reporter Comments: January 2nd, 6:20 AMGood morning Sugarbush skiers and riders! Yesterday was an amazing start to the new year with new snow, rope drops, and good vibes. Today's forecast calls for another cold and sunny day, temps of low teens at the base and single digits at the summit. You can look forward to getting down on firm and fast groomers today, along with packed powder conditions as fresh snow has been skied in. Groomers tackled Stein's last night, pushing out snowmaking whales, and over on Ripcord and Cruiser snowmaking will continue. We have over 400 skiable acres served by 12 lifts and 95 open trails, with 38 of those getting a fresh corduroy overnight. Plus, Village Quad made its season debut yesterday, a perfect spot for beginners looking to practice. Hiking at Castlerock and North Lynx is open from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM today. Ropes dropped on tons of natural terrain yesterday including Moonshine, Hammerhead, Tumbler, The Mall and more. This terrain is suggested for experts only as base coverage is thin and conditions are variable. Operations are in holiday hours, which means GMX, Super Bravo and Heaven's Gate will get the party started at 8:00 AM. Followed by all other scheduled lifts at 9:00 AM. The Sugarbush Parks crew has dialed in a beautiful freestyle setup at Mt. Ellen with 15 features and 2 jumps. Plus, Slowpoke and Sugarbear Forest at Lincoln Peak are home to 13 total features, and newly installed side hits!  Join us tomorrow, Jan 3rd at Castlerock Pub for a tasting with Athletic Brewing Company, a great way to celebrate the new year with resolutions in mind. Check out all of our winter events!Lincoln Peak's uphill evening route and Mt. Ellen's route are open, check out our uphill travel policy for more info. *Lincoln Peak morning route is closed due to grooming*
