Sugarbush’s terrain is split between two mountains—Lincoln Peak and Mt. Ellen—offering 60 miles of skiable terrain and a vertical drop of 2,600 feet. Lincoln Peak is the resort’s main base, featuring a mix of groomed cruisers, glades, and steeps. Mt. Ellen, connected via the Slide Brook Express Quad, is known for its expansive layout and classic Vermont trails. Together, they offer a wide variety of terrain for all skill levels.

Beginners will find welcoming slopes off the Village Double and Welcome Mat lifts at Lincoln Peak. These areas are designed for learning, with gentle grades and easy access to ski school programs. The terrain is clearly marked and well-maintained, making it ideal for first-timers and families with young children.

Intermediate skiers have plenty to explore, especially on trails like Snowball and Spring Fling at Lincoln Peak. Mt. Ellen’s Rim Run and Elbow offer long, flowing descents with scenic views. The grooming is consistent across both mountains, allowing intermediates to build confidence while enjoying varied terrain.

Advanced skiers will appreciate the challenge of Stein’s Run, a steep and iconic trail at Lincoln Peak. Paradise and Castlerock Lift Line offer natural terrain features and tighter turns, while Mt. Ellen’s FIS and Cliffs provide sustained pitch and technical skiing. These runs are less crowded and offer a more dynamic experience.

Expert skiers can test their skills in the Castlerock area, where narrow chutes and rugged terrain demand precision. Lift Line and Rumble are standout trails that reward strong edge control and stamina. Tree skiing is available in designated glades, with areas like Egan’s Woods offering a more secluded descent.

Freestyle riders will enjoy Sugarbush’s four terrain parks, including the Riemergasse Park and the beginner-friendly Sugar Run Park. With 18 rails and progressive features, the parks cater to all levels and are regularly refreshed to keep things exciting. The parks are spread across both mountains, allowing riders to incorporate freestyle into their day without straying far from the main trails.
