Snow Reporter Comments: Sunday, March 22, 2026Today is last call for Summit Central. So raise your glasses for one more good bonanza, shake it up with a ride up Triple60 and garnish it off with a smooth ride down Holiday.Today will be the first day of a true spring cycle. Clear skies last night led to a freeze-up at all elevations, so we'll start out this morning with a solid base instead of the squishy, wet snow we've had the last few mornings. With today's 44 F expected high and forecasted clear skies, things will get soft by afternoon. The timing will depend on multiple factors including elevation, aspect and just how many clouds come and go today. The non-hemisphere biased, late March sun should get the party started plenty early, but with the good freeze-up last night don't be too surprised if that's closer to midday then opening bell. I suspect the best riding will be around 1 to 2 PM when the sun is at its' strongest, but that will certainly vary depending on your location.Being the first day of the melt-freeze cycle, you'll find the snow hasn't fully morphed into smooth, spring snow, especially off the main runs. There you will find some rough textured snow, that might take a few laps for it to get smoothed out; you can also wait until that texture gets extra soft later in the day and just plow right through it.Forecast is calling for clear skies so it will be a beautiful day up here at the pass. Grab your sunglasses, sun screen and come wet your whistle one more time at Summit Central. While there still will be plenty of acres to ski, there will be no more Ski Acres to ski this season. You don't have to ski home, but you can't ski here (We will still be running Summit West and Alpental, please check the hours page for more information). Have a good one and I'll see you all out there. Cheers! - Ryan Parking ReminderRemember that on weekends, parking fills up early, so plan accordingly. Please don't double or triple park.
