Our team was out assessing slope and surface conditions.The latest system brought a fresh half inch of new snow overnight, providing a light refresh to the slopes. Today’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high near 38 degrees, making for a comfortable day on the mountain. Southwest winds of 10 to 15 mph are expected, with gusts up to 25 mph, delivering that classic crisp mountain air. Looking ahead, drier conditions are expected to return by midweek, with near-normal temperatures and dry weather continuing through next weekend. Based on the weather, we are looking at Tuesday night into Wednesday morning for more snowmaking.CA-330, CA-18 RS, CA-18LV are open with no snow chain restrictions expected today. Please note that conditions are subject to change at any time. As a reminder, we cannot predict future conditions or make assumptions, as we do not own, manage, or control the roads or weather. Starting today, CA-38 from Mill Creek Road (Middle Control Road) to Hills Ranch Road (Forest Road) will be under a FULL CLOSURE, Monday-Friday from 7AM to 5PM. The route will be open to travelers without restrictions from 5:01PM to 6:59AM and fully open on weekends. Read press release.The plan is to open Snow Summit today with Chairs 1, 2, 4, and 8 spinning for skiers and snowboarders from 8:30AM–4PM today. Two terrain park features are currently open on Upper Summit Run, including a ride-on box and a tube. Grizzly Ridge Tube Park will not open this weekend as originally planned. Due to conditions and weather, the opening has been pushed to Friday, January 9.

The mountain resort sits at an elevation of 7,000 feet in the San Bernadino Mountains, grants access to varied terrain via 11 lifts and provides an average 100 inches of annual snowfall. The top elevation of 8,200 feet gives skiers and riders access to 1,200 feet of vertical drop. Other on-mountain activities include a tube park and night skiing.
