Sundance’s terrain is spread across 540 acres, offering 72 trails that wind through alpine forests, open bowls, and scenic ridgelines. The base elevation starts at 6,100 feet and climbs to a summit of 8,250 feet, giving skiers a vertical drop of 2,150 feet. With 28.9 miles of skiable terrain, the mountain is compact but varied, making it easy to explore without feeling repetitive.

Beginners will find welcoming terrain near the Ray’s Lift and the Handle Tow, where wide, gentle slopes like Bearclaw and Lower Maverick provide a comfortable learning environment. These areas are close to the base lodge and ski school, making them ideal for families and first-timers.

Intermediate skiers can enjoy long cruisers like Stampede and Pipeline, which offer consistent pitch and beautiful views of Mount Timpanogos. The Outlaw Express lift provides quick access to mid-mountain terrain, and the layout allows for smooth transitions between runs.

Advanced terrain makes up a significant portion of the mountain, with 43% of trails falling into this category. Runs like Top Gun and Bishop’s Bowl deliver steeper descents and natural features that challenge technique and stamina. The Red’s Lift opens up access to upper-mountain terrain with varied snow conditions and fewer crowds.

Expert skiers can test their skills on steep chutes like Shauna’s Secret and the upper sections of Last Chance. These runs require confident edge control and offer rewarding lines when conditions are right. While Sundance doesn’t have extreme terrain, its expert trails are well-designed and offer a satisfying challenge.

Freestyle riders will find three terrain parks scattered across the mountain, each with its own character. The main park near Maverick features 10 rails and a mix of jumps and boxes, while smaller parks near the base offer progression features for beginners. Regular grooming and thoughtful layouts make these parks accessible and fun for all levels.
