Mt Potts is a unique cat and heli ski experience in the remote rural regions of New Zealand's South Island. An hour's drive from Mt Hutt and Methven, Mt Potts is a private ski field on a farmers land.
Guests stay in the lodge on the farm, basic bunk style or single rooms, and dine in the communal dining area with dinner baked by the lodge chef. There's a pool table, pot belly stove and video room for entertainment and a bar that serves local wine and beers.
Fourteen people are ferried up in the morning to Mt Potts by helicopter. Once there a cat takes boarders and skiers up and down the mountain for a true powder back country experience, fresh tracks all the way.
It's half the price of heli skiing with double the runs, up to fourteen in a day and with only fourteen people on the mountain you will always cut your own line.
A must overnight experience if you are in New Zealand.
