Snow Reporter Comments: Last updated: Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at 8AM ptIt’s Christmas Eve at Snow Summit and chairlifts will start spinning from 8:30AM to 4PM. Beginning on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, and continuing beyond, the resort will operate from 8:30AM to 8:30PM. Please note that day lift tickets are valid until 6PM; guests wishing to ride from 6PM to 8:30PM must have a Night Session lift ticket or a season pass, and all Night Session lift tickets are valid from 3PM to 8:30PM. Daily paid parking is currently in effect, with free parking available at remote off-site lots. Parking at Snow Summit is also free after 2PM for guests with Night Session reservations, based on availability. The Grizzly Ridge Tube Park is closed today and is scheduled to open for the season on January 2, 2026, and as a reminder, snow play is not permitted at Snow Summit.While enjoying the slopes, be sure to check out the newly added terrain park features at the top of Upper Summit Run, where skiers and snowboarders can test their skills on a new box and tube feature before riding all the way down to the base area.BLACKOUT DATES IN EFFECTThere are NO blackout dates for Ikon Pass, Ikon Base Pass, BBMR Anytime Pass, and Snow Valley Anytime Pass holders at Big Bear Mountain Resort during the holidays.The 25/26 BBMR Midweek Pass is valid for lift access Monday-Friday only + any nights with Night Session (yes, that's including holiday session Saturdays and Sundays). This pass is blacked out December 22-26 & 29-31, 2025 and January 1-2, 2026.The 25/26 Ikon Session passes are blacked out December 27-31, 2025, January 17-18, 2026, and February 14-15, 2026.

Snow Summit is Southern California's home for year-round scenic getaways and outdoor experiences, with world-class skiing and snowboarding in the winter and mountain biking, hiking, and family-friendly base area activities in the summer. During the winter months (November-April), Snow Summit offers 240 acres of skiable terrain with lifts and trails for all ability levels. Drop in at 8,200 feet and experience the best that SoCal has to offer. The fun doesn't stop at Snow Summit. Check out Big Bear Mountain Resort's additional alpine venues, including Snow Valley and Bear Mountain. The mountain resort sits at an elevation of 7,000 feet in the San Bernadino Mountains, grants access to varied terrain via 11 lifts and provides an average 100 inches of annual snowfall. The top elevation of 8,200 feet gives skiers and riders access to 1,200 feet of vertical drop. Other on-mountain activities include a tube park and night skiing. Where Is Snow Summit Located? Snow Summit’s base area rests within one mile of Big Bear Lake and is a two-hour drive from Los Angeles. Snow Summit is a convenient option for flyers thanks to its close proximity to Ontario International Airport, which is located 60 miles west of the ski area.
