Snow Reporter Comments: 4/1/26 3:00PM Update:Good afternoon Crystal Mountain! Mother Nature showed up early this morning with the start of a little refresh of snow. Temperatures warmed slightly but the snow has continued all day. The groomers were firm at first then became a bit softer. That said, coverage is quite good in our open terrain and continued snowfall should keep improving off-piste conditions. This snowfall is expected to continue into the night. Make sure to do those snow dances and join us tomorrow for some refreshed turns! IMPORTANT UPDATE: Expect variable chairlift speeds today as we test a new approach to power delivery: TurboPup EcoBoost™. This groundbreaking development in drivetrain technology enables us to harness the power of our very own Crystal Mountain Avalanche Dogs to propel chairlifts in the event of mainline power loss. Using a proprietary gear ratio and a boatload of dog treats, one single avalanche dog has the ability to run a lift for an entire hour while we troubleshoot. Yes, our dogs really are that strong... Light precipitation will continue into the early evening as freezing levels drop down to around 3500’, bringing us right back into winter. The southerly nature of this storm is favorable to receiving a few more inches of snow before precipitation tapers off and winds die down later tonight. As the low-pressure system shifts inland on Thursday, there’s potential for wrap around moisture to tickle us with additional snow flurries. Generally, conditions will be drier and cooler on Thursday and into Thursday night as a high-pressure ridge builds back up over the region.Wednesday Night: Sky Cover: Cloudy w/ snow showersFreezing Elevation: Decreasing to 3500’12hr Precip: 2-4” possibleWind Trends: Moderate SW with Strong gusts decreasingThursday: Sky Cover: Mostly CloudyFreezing Elevation: 3000’12hr Precip: Trace of snow possibleWind Trends: Moderate WThursday Night: Sky Cover: Mostly CloudyFreezing Elevation: 4000’12hr Precip: Little to noneWind Trends: Light to moderate W Extended: High pressure expands into the region on Friday.
