High cloud with a chance of light showers after lunch.
We’re rolling into Wednesday with high overcast cloud. Thickening through the morning, with the chance of a few light showers early afternoon. Don’t worry, it’s looking like those clouds will start to break up just in time for Night Ski.
Temps are on the mild side today, which means the snow’s releasing early. We have great conditions from the top of the mountain all the way to the base. Expect the groomed to be on point, particularly the M1 as we start the day. Smooth, fast, and ready for carving. Off-piste might be one to skip for now, but if we get the light moisture later, trail conditions could well develop into that buttery hero snow.
First Tracks fans, forgiving cord from the get go. And tonight, see you under the lights!
Coronet Peak is New Zealand’s most popular ski destination, mainly due to its proximity to Queenstown. Located in the heart of the South Island of New Zealand, Coronet Peak is only a 20-minute drive from Queenstown and provides visitors with majestic views of Lake Wakatipu, Lake Hayes and The Remarkables.
Because of its extensive snowmaking facilities, Coronet Peak is one of the last ski areas to close in the Southern Hemisphere, with a season that typically runs from June to mid-October. The mountain offers great terrain for all abilities, and night skiing is also available on weekends.
