Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, located in California’s Eastern Sierra, is one of the largest and most snow-sure resorts in the United States. With a summit elevation of 11,053 ft and a base at 7,953 ft, it offers a vertical drop of 3,100 ft and receives an average annual snowfall of 337 inches. The resort spans 3,500 acres of skiable terrain, with 178 named trails and 24 lifts, including gondolas, high-speed sixes, and quads. Snowmaking covers key areas, ensuring reliable conditions throughout the season. The trail breakdown caters to all levels: 25% very difficult, 19% difficult, 28% slightly difficult, 13% easiest, and 15% extremely difficult. Families will appreciate the six tubing lanes, beginner zones near Eagle and Canyon Lodges, and the Discovery Chair area designed for young learners. Mammoth also features two halfpipes and 10 terrain parks, including the renowned Unbound Main Park, making it a favourite among freestyle skiers and snowboarders.
