Mammoth Mountain’s terrain is vast and varied, offering 3,500 acres of skiable space across 178 trails. The mountain is divided into several zones, each with its own character. Main Lodge serves as the central hub, with access to beginner-friendly areas and the Unbound Main Park. Canyon Lodge and Eagle Lodge cater to families and intermediates, while The Mill and Chair 23 lead to steeper terrain and expert runs.

Beginners will find gentle slopes near Discovery Chair and Schoolyard Express, with green runs like Sesame Street and Pumpkin offering smooth descents. Eagle Lodge’s Holiday and Sleepy Hollow pistes are ideal for building confidence, and the Road Runner run allows strong beginners to descend from the summit all the way to the base.

Intermediate skiers can explore Broadway, Stump Alley, and Solitude, which offer long, rolling blue runs with scenic views. The Gold Rush Express connects to a network of blue-black trails such as Relief and Quicksilver, perfect for those ready to push their skills further.

Advanced and expert skiers will appreciate the steep chutes and mogul fields accessed via Chair 22 and Chair 23. Runs like Hangman’s Hollow, Drop Out Chutes, and Paranoid Flats offer technical descents and dramatic alpine exposure. The Hemlocks area provides hike-accessed terrain with natural features and powder stashes.

Freestyle riders flock to Mammoth’s 10 terrain parks, including South Park, Forest Trail, and Transition Park. The resort features two halfpipes, including a 22 ft Super-Duper Pipe, and over 75 rails and jibs. These parks are designed for progression, with features for all levels.

Natural features such as open bowls, ridgelines, and volcanic formations make Mammoth’s terrain visually striking and physically engaging. The longest run, Road Runner, stretches 3 miles and offers a full-spectrum descent from summit to base. With consistent snow, varied terrain, and modern lift infrastructure, Mammoth Mountain delivers a dynamic skiing experience for all.
