Snow Reporter Comments: Blue Ribbon laps are back ON! Burner's report was spot on yesterday morning, and I'm stoked to have had the day off to get amongst it. Today will be more of a warm down affair after that powder frenzy but there'll still be plenty of really fun turns to be had out there. We've had another 9cm in the past 24 hours, with about half of that falling during the day and the rest overnight. However, there was a period of freezing drizzle during the evening, so the snow now has a slight crust on it at higher elevations and is damp lower down. It's not the powder day of yesterday but the groomers will be skiing and riding really well, while off piste will be quite variable and a little challenging to start the day before the higher trafficked areas come into shape with some use. If you get adventurous, let your mates go first and watch how they get on before launching into it. The overnight low was minus 4, the current temp is minus 2 and we are heading for a top of minus 1. The wind is a moderate westerly and there is still the odd snow flurry this morning. Blue Ribbon lift and many other runs came back online yesterday and we hope to get The Drift up and running again today. First Tracks is scheduled for 0730 on Heavenly Valley. However, keep an eye on the lift status's this morning, as I expect there may be some delays due to the impact of the overnight freezing drizzle. I reckon there will be lots of de-icing required by the lift ops team this morning. Rug up and have a beaut one. Cheers Bill.
