Great little place past mount Hotham which has free entry. Toboggan hire was $15 and has its own dedicated toboggan hill. Beginner snowboarders and skier area not really suited for more experience than that. Great place to hone the basics. Friendly people, awesome little houses which seem to be pet friendly, several places to eat. No major shops so buy stocks then travel up. The snow is everywhere and it is awesome, many snowmen being made daily. Overall fantastic beginner/family/pet friendly area away from the chaos of the bigger ski fields.
Great beginner boarder and skier area separate from the tobogganing. Great little place with fantastic views. Several places to eat, friendly staff, all hire gear available, don't need a pass to travel through Mt Hotham, free entry into Dinner plain
Bit of winding roads to get up but what do you expect when its on a snow cap. Beginner area only really.

We love the design of dinner plain. Our chalet was family friendly and pet friendly. We stayed at Welkominn. Our golden retriever loved her stay as much as the kids.
Quiet, family orientated
Need to offer more for summer season
We loved Dinner Plain. We researched alot and wanted to be above the snowline but not in a busy loud environment. Whoever is responsible for the concept of Dinner Plain done a great job. It really is beautiful, so friendly, peaceful and with easy access 10km from Mt Hotham. We stayed at the Dinner Plain Chalet which was very reasonably priced less than $100 a night with a great owner.manager.chef
Stunning and Peaceful
Just Great
Dinner Plain is an extraordinary alpine village with unique buildings inspired by the high country cattlemens huts of yesteryear. We found that it had something for everyone, we stayed in a luxury chalet called Gotham and it had everything - absolutely fantastic. The village has a number of places to eat and drink we liked Rundells for the food and the Dinner Plain Pub for the fun. We bought most of our groceries on the way at Bright and were glad we did as the supermarket prices at Dinner Plain were over the top. The ladies of our party really enjoyed their treatments at the onsen and day spa, it was a little pricey but we did get the use of all the facilities included in the treatment price. There is an excellent toognning and beginners ski slope in the village which was fantastic for the little kids. There is a free bus for the ten minute drive up to mount hotham where there is a fantastic range of slopes for all levels of ability. We all spent some days sking and snowboarding and a couple of days snuggled up in front of a fantastic open fire watching movies from the oustanding DVD libary at the chalet and sitting in the big spa on the deck on bad weather days. There are excellent daycare facilities and a very professional babysitting service in the village, we used both and the kids were very happy. This has been one of our best ski holidays ever.
Unique, family friendly, welcoming, beautiful, safe
Very very expensive groceries at the supermarket
