Smuggs was amazing today! Snowed all day and the POW was just awesome!

Could not ask for a better first day of the season. It pretty much snowed for two days straight and there was fresh snow to be found everywhere all day long. This little mountain packs a big punch and has some of the best terrain in southern New England. Unless you disdain slow double chairs, why spend $144 for a lift ticket at Stratton when you can ski Magic for $74

Beautiful sunrise over the inversion this morning. Typical east coast hardpack. Ok in the morning but just dangerous by afternoon.

Snowboarded Dec 28-30 - like other review said Christmas rain really hurt the mountain but overall still good groomed runs. And short/ no lift lines if u skipped the gondola. Now need to hope for some snow storms to fill in the rest of the mountain and the woods.

Conditions where icy with narrow and balding runs. The rain yesterday must have killed any early session fun.

First time here. Lots of untracked powder and stashes to be found. Love this place and the vibe. Great steeps for a small hill. No long run out. Slow chairlifts to let your legs recoup. Can’t wait to come back.

36 inches of new snow in the past 18 hours! Unfortunately the resort was not ready for it and they only managed to open 2 lifts. This weekend's conditions should be better as they get time to dig out lifts and groom and check
With COVID, the lodges are eat and get out, so be prepared not to rest indoors. Hopefully the cooks will make it in tomorrow, today it was pre-made sandwiches only.

Great conditions right now with soft snow across the area. Most everything is open, however the steeper trails do have dirt patches and rocks showing. The cruisers are very well covered though and even the glades are pretty nice. Snow showers at the top allude to the snow storm coming Thursday, which should fill in the dirt spots. Overall great day and there should be plenty more to come.

With temps pushing 60 not a banner day for conditions. By 130 many trails on spruce were slush and too slow, ones on far right and left should have been closed due to so much exposed terrain. Mansfield was good including Moguls but you had to ski the shade by noon. Kudos to Vail resorts for having most trails and lifts open, didn't see a blue off limits.

Been skiing mount snow for 35 years and this past weekend was by far the best visit yet. 86 of 88 trails were in pristine condition. My son and I spent most of our time disputing which run was the best. He claimed “Olympic” I argued “Plummet” We finally agreed they were all great! Kudos to the crew at Mount Snow.

Once again spring conditions today with nice soft snow and no crowds. The mogals were nice and soft today along with most of the glades with the exception of Black Hole. Some patches of dirt in some high traffic and non groomed runs but overall a great day. With over a foot of snow for Thursday, now is the time to get here!

My daughter (11) and I had a blast. The conditions were incredible. The mountain was 100% open and every trail we went on was in perfect shape. I can’t wait to get back up there next weekend

Great conditions out there today with everything open. Soft snow towards the bottom with firmer stuff up top. Very little ice, even the glades were pretty good with soft snow and plenty of coverage. Crowds died down around noon and it was empty by two in the afternoon.

Great day with a lot of fresh snow most of the day. Winds really picked up in the afternoon and iced it up just a bit. They are expecting 90MPH winds at the summit tonight so tomorrow may be icy.

Best powder days I’ve had at jay and I’ve had many. What an epic weekend. Knee deep stashes everywhere. There was so much pow I’ve found lines and glades I didn’t even know existed yet. Flyer and tram were closed on Saturday but you could hike a bit to hit that side. Jay is the BEST

Smuggs never disappoints. We skied all day on Sunday Feb 9, 30+" new snow in past few days, very cold, no wind, no crowds! Both Madonna and Sterling peaks were in top shape. Friendly skiers ad boarders and great lifties. Tough to pick a favorite run: Upper FIS, Chilcoot, Rumrunner, Black Snake and Practice Slope.

Skied Mt Ellen on Sat 2/1 because we figured the rest of Sugarbush would be crowded. Had plenty of company but not too crowded and really great snow to play in. Sugarbush/Mt Ellen has the best groomers and snow making in New England, seriously! Mother nature gives SB a decent base and they know how to make it better. We enjoyed soft turns and no hard pack all day, especially appreciated after going the next day over to Loon in NH where it was noisy hard pack on every run.

Spent day at Killington. No new snow in about a week, but trail conditions were pretty good. By 2pm trails were pretty scraped off to the sides with ice and hard pack down the middle. A few trails were too thinly covered for my taste. Clouds made it very difficult to pick up slope contours near the top (not their fault). Bear Mt. lift wasn’t spinning which created lines. Summit Gondola broke down so that sucked for a little while.

We were pleasantly surprised at the great conditions today, plenty of snow cover, no ice, most of our favorite trails to choose from. Murphy's Glade was as good as it's ever been as was Lynx North, although Spring Fling was a bit hidden under those major whales of stored man-made snow which will no doubt be groomed away for the weekend. We were happy to take a Friday off and best the weekend crowds. Maybe Saturday is a good day to ski Glen Ellen instead.
