Challenging Terrain
Flat sections not good for snowboarders

Full review

We visited Snowbird on a holiday weekend mid February. Conditions varied from packed powder to ice in some sections. The terrain is challenging and not friendly to beginners. Be prepared. We are snowboarders and enjoyed may of the open bowl sections and steep runs Snowbird has to offer. We did not like the numerous traverse and flat sections around the mountain that snowboarders would all have to stop and unstrap to get across. Food options were varied and plentiful. Cost is what you'd expect at a large resort. We enrolled our 5yo child in a full day snowboard lesson. The cost was expensive for the amount of on hill time provided. It was an hour in the morning and afternoon. The rest of the time was spent indoors doing activities. The resort is large so the runs never felt crowded despite being a holiday weekend. We are happy that Snowbird will be part of the Ikon pass for the 2018/2019 season. We are looking forward to visiting again sometime.
