Mountain News Corporation and our OnTheSnow and Skiinfo websites will be shutting down. We will explore the possibility of selling, partnering, or contributing assets to another media outlet if there is an opportunity to allow for a consistent or enhanced online experience. The Remarkables Ski Area is made up of three sunny, sheltered bowls framed by towering peaks. The resort is a great place for families and those looking for some freestyle terrain. For the more adventurous skier, great terrain is accessed via a short hike to some steep chutes and wide open faces. For long uncrowded runs, check out the Homeward Runs serviced by the Homeward Shuttle.

The Remarkables also offers plenty of beginner areas that are wide open and excluded from some of the more advanced terrain. Intermediate riders looking for freestyle terrain should head over to Serpentine, Upper Gallery, and Lower Gallery for some excellent natural features.

When lunch is calling stop by The Remarkables Cafe to re -fuel. The Cafe has expansive decks that overlook the amazing alpine views of Coronet Peak and the Wakatipu Basin.

The Remarkables offers ski and snowboard school for children of all ages. The Skiwiland Early Learning Centre and the Kea Club provides fun activities in a safe environment. It is a great way for children to learn how to ski or snowboard while making friends on the mountain. All children 10 years and under get access to a free lift ticket.
