Overview

Ski Sundown, located in the small town of New Hartford, Connecticut, is one of the premier ski areas in the region. Sundown has 17 trails (16 lit up for night skiing) spread out over 70 acres of skiable terrain for skiers and snowboarders to enjoy. Skiers can access trails via 1 quad chairlift w/ conveyor, 2 triple chairlifts and 2 beginner area conveyors. The mountain has 100% snowmaking capacity and an impressivefor Connecticut1,075 foot summit elevation.

Ski Sundown prides itself on their ski school with lessons to match all learning styles. These include group, private, semi-private, adaptive and multi-week lesson programs for kids ages 3+, teens, and adults. The mountain also offers a designated learning area, two separate terrain parks, mogul trails (in spring), and free NASTAR racing. Sundown's lodge is spacious and provides tons of indoor seating in addition to outdoor seating on their newly expanded mountain view patio. Dining options include two self-service food courts, an apres-ski bar, and an outdoor grill on holidays and weekends.

Ski Sundown's facilities include a full-service rental and repair shop for skiers and snowboarders, cafeteria-style food service, a bar with pub dining, and ski shop. The mountain view patio was recently expanded and offers outdoor grill on weekends and holidays. Other highlights include an extensive ski and snowboard school, 100 percent snowmaking, twice-daily grooming for fresh corduroy conditions before opening and at 6 p.m. for night skiing.
