Arapahoe Basin Ski Area - I skied on Sunday 2/18, Presidents’ Day weekend, it was busy at the bottom and the 2 upper lifts on the front side stayed busy and slow most of the morning. The groomers were good and stuff on the cornice was soft. The wind was fine until 11:00 and then it blew so hard I was supprised the kept the lifts open. The wind blew so hard it was almost dangerous to get off the lift and to get down the first few hundred yards down towards the protected part of the bowl. Staff was nice and I enjoyed the day. I will avoid abay in the future if the wind is going to blow but if there is good weather and snow you should give abay a try! - © Ryan Hofsheier’s iPhone

Arapahoe Basin Ski Area - There was an average of one inch accumulation most of the day, but some icy crusty stuff underneath. Lift lines above Black Mountain were non existent, especially with most folks going to Zuma. Visibility was nonexistent until the sun poked out at around 1p. Still it was a great day. - © Matt C

Arapahoe Basin Ski Area - Great day Sunday for how bad this year has started. Started off really cold, then warmed up to high 20's up top and mid 30's at the base. Trails were mainly hard pack, with minimal ice. No rocks or other obstacles exposed on 95% of open terrain. Lines were decently long but moved fast. The upper mountain had better conditions in my opinion. There were plenty of closed trails that appeared to be good enough to ski on. I suspect they are saving these for Christmas as more could have been open. Their small feature terrain park was open as well. If you are debating between Winter Park and A basin, choose A Basin hands down. - © YoDood

Arapahoe Basin Ski Area - Icy in spots but for the most part it was well worth the day away from Denver. - © Steve's iPhone

Arapahoe Basin Ski Area - Busy. 1 run open from the top, long lines, but sunny and fresh snow. They should be able to open new terrain soon. This storm helped big time. - © Iceburge

Arapahoe Basin Ski Area - pretty good if you're looking to make some turns. the upper face is open with one run. if they didn't have the upper face open it would just be too crowded everyday now. - © anonymous
