It's official: the Ikon Pass has ruined both Cottonwood Canyons, but most especially Alta. The volume of traffic going up the mountain is ridiculous, the lift lines enormous. ... Full Review

Charging $65 for. 5 year old is simply ridiculous. No other resort I know does this. If you have a family and kids go to Snowbird (under 6 are free). Alta seem to moving to the rip off ski resort tactics - very sad ... Full Review

I love Alta! Skied wed for my birthday and the pow was unbelievably soft floaty and super fast! I love that I can ski alta off runs safely and the services for children and seniors is unbeatable. They always make me feel like I'm welcome. I have two rowdy toddlers and they are always welcomed warmly at the daycare, and it doesnt cost us a fortune to have a full day skiing. Tracking the next storm for sure ... Full Review

Amazing bluebird day!. Plenty of powder from the storm the night before. The wind made it very cold but it was worth it for the amazing snow.... Full Review

Alta is the perfect example of a place loved to death. Simply put, too many people. From the issues with the road, 2-3 hours one way if it snows, to the enormous lift lines, Alta is a shit show. If you can ski midweek it is a little better than the wknds but the in general the skier experience has declined precipitously in recent years do to overcrowding. What used to be billed as a convenient destination because of proximity to airport has, in reality, become an experience where you may spend 4 or 5 hours in your car going 20 miles roundtrip in little cottonwood canyon. There are far better destination ski resorts than Alta. ... Full Review

Skied Alta on Thurs and Fri 4/12-13 with 28 inches of Utah essence. Powder was medium density and nice very quality for spring. Visibility not great with wind and snow on Thurs and Fri AM but skiing was excellent with free refills all day long both days. Like my own private resort on Thurs with no one around. Doesn't get any better skiing for a snowy day. Nightlife at lodges exist but people here to ski more than partying late into night.... Full Review

I have been coming to Alta regularly since 1980. I was really sad to see the Cecret lift gone this year. That lift was one of the magical things about Alta. It gave Alta its alpine character. I am sure the new Supreme lift is great but now beginning skiers like my wife and kid only have one lift to ski. The resort used to be the best place in the world for beginning to intermediate skiiers. I am really sad to see that option go because the whole resort loses a little magic.... Full Review
