Great runs, inexpensive rentals, friendly staff, not too crowded

I was with a group of 7 (varying degrees of experience) who skied at Alta at the end of December, 2017, and we loved it. We planned to do two days at Alta and two at Snowbird, but ended up coming back to Alta for a third day. We were told conditions were bad, but we normally ski on the East Coast so things seemed great to us. We did notice the Supreme lift trails wearing away on our last day. We loved the runs on the Supreme and Sugarloaf lifts - the blues flattened out between steep areas so you weren't flying down the mountain (our experience at Snowbird). The greens were also great to warm up or wind down. It was easy to pop into glades and terrain areas from those runs. Misc: The tow rope from Wildcat to Albion was long and kind of tiring. We avoided when possible. We got our tickets through Mountain Collective and it took a bit of time to get that sorted out on the first day. The UTA buses had convenient stops but timing could be off. Uber wasn't hard to get in the morning but were pretty sparse at the end of the day. Would drive own car if possible.
