Ok for beginners otherwise it is nothing as advertised ... Full Review

friendly, knowledgeable instructors and staff... Full Review
Barely, if at all, is the area open from the top. Never seen 100% of mountain open, making it an area for beginners only. Fire damaged one of their chairs a few years ago. They never fixed it. Head to Sugar or Beech for adequate skiing. ... Full Review
Thought it was joke upon arrival. Definitely no Olympic slope. Slope consists of a mole hill. You will be lucky to make it all the way down. Unbelievable. I gave 1 star simply because I couldn’t give 0. Incredibly generous on my part. I spent more money ubering to and from my hotel than it was worth. Don’t waste your time. ... Full Review
Unlike other nearby stockholder held ski resorts that seem to milk you for cash at every turn, Wolf Ridge is a family-owned Ski Resort with a easy going Southern Hospitality feel. Easily accessible from Asheville and only 15 minutes off I-26, the resort is small but well planned and the conditions are very typical of Southeastern skiing. The snow making is excellent and the trails are laid out very well. Probably the most perfect location for a ski slope in North Carolina, nestled in a valley and largely protected from the wind, the mountain is well laid out and the trails make good use of the 700 foot vertical. Best for beginners and intermediates, experts should probably look to Salt Lake or Denver anyway.... Full Review
I'm just learning to snowboard so never made to advanced slopes. Main slope is very nice with 1 or 2 little kickers. Nice people. Great view. Only had 1 lift open the day I was there. I will definitely be returning. Very reasonable lift ticket pricing.
Put me on skis and I can give better reviews on advanced and expert slopes. ... Full Review
Wold Ridge lies about their top elevation. I used my ski tracker app while there and the average top altitude was closer to 4600'. This data can be verified by the terrain feature of google maps. I assume this is to help compete with Cataloochee, which are both around 30 min from Ashville.
I showed up at 8:30am on Sunday of MLK weekend and got in 11 runs in before it got crowded around 11 am. I left around 12:30 after hitting the same 2 slopes 15 times.
I liked how it only took me 1.5 hrs from Greenville SC to get to Wolf Ridge, and I only paid $49 for a day pass. I have been to most of the other ski areas in NC and would rank wolf ridge near the bottom. The runs at Wolf Ridge lack a consistent fall line and are boring. Sugar has the most vertical and acres, App Ski has the best terrain parks, Beech has a detachable quad(only detachable in NC). ... Full Review
I've been skiing Wolf Ridge since it was Wolf Laurel and they have consistently offered a great ski experience. Okay, its not the Western US, or the Alps, but it is skiing. I've skied them all, and I still prefer taking my youth group to Wolf Ridge every year. I have always found the staff to be friendly and professional. The lifts are sufficient and the runs are good. Sure, its sometimes icy but its also North Carolina skiing. We're going again the weekend (1/25/14) and looking forward a great trip.... Full Review
