It’s been a great start to the ski season. Some ski resorts saw their earliest opening day in years, while others have enjoyed significant snowfall early in the season. It’ll only get better from here. While the holidays may be behind us, we’re continuing the holiday giving vibes, by giving away great winter swag to OnTheSnow readers and app users who leave a North America resort review or firsthand report.
January Resort Reviews and Firsthand Report Giveaway
This month we’re giving OnTheSnow readers and app users two chances to win an OnTheSnow-branded Odlo Cocoon N-Thermic Light insulated jacket ($190 value). The Odlo jacket is a great mid-layer jacket for a day on the slopes or perfect to slip on for your patio aprés sesh after a day of skiing or riding. The two winners will also receive additional OnTheSnow swag, including a balaclava.
The first way to be entered to win is simply by rating and reviewing any ski resort you’ve recently visited this season. Just be sure to leave your review by the end of January to be entered to win. We’ll randomly pick a winner and email the winner in early February. Resort reviews like this provide helpful feedback for resorts while also helping inform fellowing skiers and riders. What’s more, your ratings and reviews will help pick the winners of the Visitors’ Choice Awards at the end of the ski season.
The second way to be entered to win is by leaving a firsthand report this month in the OnTheSnow app. You can do this directly from the mountain while taking a break from skiing, or after you’ve wrapped up your day. To post your report, you’ll simply navigate to the ski resort that you’re at in the OnTheSnow app, scroll toward the bottom of the “Snow Report” tab, and tap “Post First Hand Report”. Then, you’ll add your name, write about the current conditions and your experience, and then add a photo before tapping “Send Report.”
You can leave a firsthand report anytime during the month of January to be entered to win. The winners will randomly be drawn in early February, and then be contacted shortly after. The winner of the resort reviews giveaway will receive an email, while the winner of the firsthand reports giveaway will be contacted via the OnTheSnow app.

Terms & Conditions
- This giveaway is administered by Mountain News, parent company of OnTheSnow, located in California.
- Entrants must be 18 years of age and be legal residents of the U.S. or Canada.
- Entrants can leave as many reviews and firsthand reports as they’d like, but they’ll only be counted as one entry for each of the two giveaways. Entrants can have up to two entries, one for leaving a resort review and one for leaving a firsthand report.
- Entrants must add a review, and not just a rating, for the resort review.
- Entrants must include an image and text for the firsthand report.
- OnTheSnow employees are not eligible to enter.
- Reviews and firsthand reports must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. PST on January 31, 2025 to be counted for the drawing.
- The prize is an Odlo Cocoon N-Thermic Light insulated jacket ($190 value).
- Two winners will be drawn randomly and contacted by February 7, 2025.
- Once contacted, entrants have 7 days from contact to claim their prize and send their mailing address. Note that the winner of the resort reviews giveaway will be notified and contacted via an email address from mountainnews.com. Any email from any other email address not ending in “mountainnews.com” is not affiliated with OnTheSnow or the giveaway. Winner of the firsthand report giveaway will be contacted via message in the OnTheSnow app.
