Where to Use Your Winter Ski Pass for Summer Adventures

Newsroom Summer Mountain Getaways Where to Use Your Winter Ski Pass for Summer Adventures

While winter is likely the season that many people associate with using their ski pass, a number of passes unlock a treasure trove of adventures once the snow melts. Many ski resorts and multi-resort passes offer summer perks, from scenic gondola rides and free bike park tickets to discounted activities, lodging, and more. With multi-resort passes like Ikon and Epic, it’s important to note that the summer benefits tend to kick in by purchasing a pass for the following ski season. For example, a 2024/25 pass will not roll over into the summer season, but purchasing a 2025/26 pass will unlock summer opportunities. This is all the more reason to purchase your ski pass early for the following season.

So whether you’re deciding which pass to buy for next year or looking for summer travel deals, our guide will help you decide which multi-resort pass you may want to consider for its summer perks. Additionally, we’re sharing a few individual ski resorts that offer incredible summer experiences for pass holders.

Multi-Resort Passes with Summer Perks

Ikon Pass

One of the two largest multi-resort passes, the Ikon Pass offers a number of summer benefits and access to warm-weather experiences at select resorts. Those who purchase a 2025/26 Ikon Pass will receive two free bike park tickets to use during the 2025 summer season, while Ikon Base Pass holders receive one complimentary bike park ticket. Eligible North America ski resorts include Aspen, Brighton, Killington, Loon, Mammoth, Panorama, Red Mountain, Revelstoke, Schweitzer, Snow Summit, Snow Valley, Snowbasin, Snowshoe, Solitude, Steamboat, Stratton, Sugarloaf, Sun Peaks, Sun Valley, and The Highlands.

Mammoth Mountain and Palisades Tahoe offer discounts on mountain bike rentals, lodging, golf, and more. At Palisades Tahoe, pass holders also get free access to informative Washoe Cultural Talks. On the East Coast, Ikon Pass holders receive discounts on mountain bike rentals at Stratton and discounted 2025 golf membership passes for select ages at Sugarbush.

The 2025/26 Ikon Pass and Ikon Base Pass also grant users free scenic chairlift or gondola rides at 16 of its Alterra destinations, including Crystal Mountain, Copper Mountain, Solitude, Steamboat, and more. Overall, the Ikon Pass has a wealth of benefits for winter and summer adventurers alike.

Epic Pass

Epic gives pass holders free summer lift and gondola access to the same Vail-owned and operated resorts included with their pass during winter. Note that this lift access excludes those with the Epic 1-7 Day Pass. Epic Pass holders also receive 20% off food, lodging, bike rentals, and rounds of golf. Be sure to check the details of where the discounts apply, as each Epic resort has slightly different offerings. Vail, for example, has free lift access to the Eagle Bahn Gondola, while Keystone and Park City guests can access lift rides for scenic views and mountain biking and enjoy 20% off rounds of golf.
