Snow Reporter Comments: Sandia Peak is now closed, but will leave the mountain ready to go in case we do get enough snow to open once again, this season. Power Pass holders* can still enjoy access at other Power Pass resorts like Pajarito and Sipapu. Guests with unused Sandia resort credits can also use their credits at any open Power Pass destination for the remainder of the season, We are incredibly grateful to everyone who visited us this winter and shared the mountain with us. It was a pleasure having you on the slopes, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Sandia Peak!

Sandia Peak sits high above Albuquerque and boasts perhaps the nation's easiest ski resort access from a major city via a 60-person aerial tram that rises more than 4,000 vertical feet in less than 20 minutes. It is New Mexico's oldest ski area and offers beginner and intermediate skiers and boarders some long cruisers. Weekends can get crowded and lifts are old, but a weekday powder dump even can entice experts to sample its slopes.
