The Sandia Peak snow report for Jan 14 is a 6" base depth with 1 of 4 lifts open. Please note ski conditions and snowfall at Sandia Peak are sourced directly from the ski resort and are only recorded during the official ski season's opening to closing dates.
Snow Reporter Comments: NEW SNOW ALERT! 2 inches fell in the last 24 hours bringing our weekly snowfall total to 7 inches! Come ski the new snow today at Albuquerque's mountain.
Please note that Lift 3 will not be open due to the limited snow on the upper mountain. We encourage caution while enjoying the slopes as early season and unmarked obstacles may exist.
Notice there is no access to the ski area via the Sandia Peak Tram.
Not bad 5 inches. Only lift 4 is running to mid mountain. Staff say main lift will open after 6 more inches of snowfall. $35, and kids 12 and under ride free.
Sandia Peak sits high above Albuquerque and boasts perhaps the nation's easiest ski resort access from a major city via a 60-person aerial tram that rises more than 4,000 vertical feet in less than 20 minutes. It is New Mexico's oldest ski area and offers beginner and intermediate skiers and boarders some long cruisers. Weekends can get crowded and lifts are old, but a weekday powder dump even can entice experts to sample its slopes.
