Tamarack’s terrain is spread across a single mountain face, offering a compact yet diverse layout that caters to all skill levels. The base elevation starts at 4,900 feet and rises to a summit of 7,700 feet, delivering a vertical drop of 2,800 feet. With 58 trails and 1,100 acres of skiable terrain, the resort is easy to navigate but packed with variety. The Discovery area near the base is ideal for beginners, with gentle slopes and surface lifts that make learning accessible and low-pressure.

Intermediate skiers will find plenty to explore on trails like Serenity and Waltz, which offer long, flowing descents with consistent pitch and wide turns. These runs are served by high-speed quads that keep lift lines short and laps frequent. The mid-mountain terrain is perfect for building confidence and enjoying scenic views of Lake Cascade.

Advanced skiers can head to trails like Showtime and Upper Bliss, which feature steeper pitches and natural terrain features. These runs are ideal for carving and speed, with tree-lined sections that add variety. The resort’s snowmaking ensures reliable coverage on these key trails, even during dry spells.

Expert terrain is limited but rewarding. Runs like Wildwood and Upper Encore offer tight chutes and challenging lines that test edge control and stamina. These trails are best tackled in fresh snow and are often less trafficked, making them a great option for experienced skiers looking for solitude and challenge.

Freestyle riders can explore three terrain parks: Discovery Park for beginners, Homestead Park for intermediates, and the Showoff Park for advanced riders. Each park is designed with progression in mind, featuring rails, boxes, and jumps that cater to different skill levels. The parks are maintained regularly and offer creative layouts that keep riders engaged.

Natural scenery is a standout at Tamarack. From the summit, skiers can take in panoramic views of the Payette National Forest and Lake Cascade. The longest run, Waltz, stretches 1.5 miles and winds through open glades and ridgelines, offering a peaceful descent that showcases the mountain’s beauty. Whether you’re chasing powder or cruising groomers, Tamarack’s terrain delivers a satisfying mix of challenge and charm.
