Sun Valley Trail Map
Sun Valley’s terrain spans 2,457 acres across Bald Mountain and Dollar Mountain, offering 120 trails and a vertical drop of 3,400 ft. The resort’s layout is designed for flow and variety, with long groomers, steep pitches, and progressive parks. The longest run stretches 3.6 miles, and snowmaking covers key zones to ensure consistent conditions throughout the season.
Dollar Mountain is ideal for beginners, with gentle slopes, surface lifts, and terrain parks tailored for progression. The tubing lane and learning areas near the base make it a favorite for families and first-time skiers. The terrain is wide, well-groomed, and easy to navigate.
Intermediate skiers will enjoy Bald Mountain’s blue runs, including Upper College and Ridge, which offer rolling terrain and scenic views. These areas are served by high-speed quads and provide access to on-mountain dining and rest stops.
Advanced terrain includes runs like Limelight and Warm Springs, which feature steeper gradients and natural moguls. The River Run side of Bald Mountain offers fast groomers and technical descents, while Seattle Ridge provides long, flowing lines with panoramic views.
Expert skiers can explore Baldy’s summit chutes and off-piste zones, including the Christmas Bowl and Lookout area. These runs are steep, exposed, and often hold powder well after storms. Access is via gondola and high-speed lifts, with patrol monitoring conditions.
Freestyle riders will find seven terrain parks across the resort, including a halfpipe and jib zones on Dollar Mountain. Parks are groomed daily and include 76 rails, jump lines, and features for all skill levels. The layout supports progression and includes viewing areas for spectators.
Natural features include forested ridgelines, open bowls, and scenic overlooks. The terrain diversity across Sun Valley ensures that every skier and rider finds their ideal run, whether cruising groomers or dropping into steep chutes.
