Snow Reporter Comments: Wed 17 September, 07:25AM A dusting of fresh. Yesterday was one of the better days of the season...to stay inside with a good book, but things are on the improve this morning. The temperature dropped below zero around midnight and we've had a couple of centimeters of snow overnight, with the odd flurry still coming through as I write this. The current temperature is minus 2, heading for a top of zero, and the wind is a stiff northwesterly. The base has now frozen, with just a skiff of dry snow on top, leaving classic dust on crust conditions out there this morning. It will be pretty variable, with a mix of firm frozen snow and very shallow wind drifted pockets of fresh. Stick to the groomers and feel it out before getting adventurous, and we may see more widespread softening as the day warms. Rug up for the windchill today... but we should be back to much more user-friendly spring weather and snow conditions tomorrow.
