It is a small ski area trying to be a resort that has a ski area vs a ski area that has a resort. In the morning the staff controls parking to allow shuttles to move around. Selfish parking late makes jt a hike in the afternoon. The area might relish this review to get rid of day trippers and focus on the resort whales.
Skiing is great once you get to the mountain. As long as day temps stay low, the slow stays soft. The area is compartmental: each skill level of terrain is clumped together. Lift lines are short.
Apres ski is marginal. Focus is on the resort. Which is unfortunate since they are too far out of town to be a full experience like Breckenridge, Aspen, or even Alta.
Best solution, benchmarking Tremblant with a gondola to get people from parking to the slopes would allow Targhee to pretend to be a ski mountain a little longer.
