Firsthand Reports

Decent skiing for near 70 degrees. Snowshoe has done well through this heat.

Spent this past Wed-Fri on the mtn. Slope conditions got progressively worse through our stay. Today conditions were very slushy causing skis to stick a bit, although flume seems to be holding up exceptionally well with some spots resembling packed powder. Otherwise, not many barespots in the middle of runs but the width of the runs are shrinking fast (we noticed big differences in just 3 days). Heard the botton of wastern territory was really bad with a lot of bare spots which we saw leaving the mtn. Silvercreek is super bad moreso than Snowshoe proper. Not sure how much longer the mtn can stay open unless sub freezing temps arrive soon along with some fresh pow. We were also told there’d be no more grooming unless conditions changed and this was apparent on the runs, lots of ruts and grooves. Go now if you want to ski there this season

Snowshoe has held up well considering the heat and rain. Silver Creek is a mess. Half the runs are closed and the ones that are open are in bad shape.

Skied all day. Loose granular (over ice in spots). Only snow here is the runs and trails. Warmest day I’ve ever spent on the mountain. It’s getting thin in spots over at Western. They are working hard to keep it in good shape, though. Tomorrow is more of the same with increasing chances of rain as the day goes on.
