Mountain News Corporation and our OnTheSnow and Skiinfo websites will be shutting down. We will explore the possibility of selling, partnering, or contributing assets to another media outlet if there is an opportunity to allow for a consistent or enhanced online experience. Thursday 2/27 was slushy and warm. Turned to blizzard white out conditions. Caught the only gondy to the top before everything went on wind hold, then closed for rest of day. If you stuck it out the afternoon got better when temps dropped and snow became fluffy. Friday 2/28 will be best day of the season for sure.

With temps pushing 60 not a banner day for conditions. By 130 many trails on spruce were slush and too slow, ones on far right and left should have been closed due to so much exposed terrain. Mansfield was good including Moguls but you had to ski the shade by noon. Kudos to Vail resorts for having most trails and lifts open, didn't see a blue off limits.
