Mount Snow ski area has terrain suitable for all ability types, from gentle beginner slopes to blue cruisers and challenging black diamonds. The resort is known for having great snow making coverage, excellent grooming operations, modern facilities and a comfortable lodge.
Skiers and riders have access to 600 acres, serviced by 19 lifts. The Bluebird Express lift, Mount Snow&rsquo;s six-person bubble lift, transports skiers and riders to the resort&rsquo;s summit elevation of 3,600 feet. But it&rsquo;s all downhill from there: the 1,700 feet of vertical drop sees an average annual snowfall of 135 inches. Base elevation is 1,900 feet.
The base area lodge plays host to a variety of events throughout the summer and winter seasons. Whether teeing off at the Mount Snow Golf Club or catching some air in the Mount Snow Bike Park, there are resort activities for everyone.
Where Is Mount Snow Ski Resort? Mount Snow, located in the Green Mountains of southern Vermont, is a doable drive from many Northeast metropolitan areas, including New York City, Boston, Albany and Hartford. The mountain resort and ski area are within four miles of West Dover.

Getting to Mount Snow is straightforward. The closest major airport is Albany International (ALB), about 90 minutes away by car. Bradley International (BDL) and Boston Logan (BOS) are also viable options, with drive times of roughly 2 and 3 hours, respectively. Shuttle services run from Albany and New York City on weekends and holidays, and private transfers are available year-round. If you're driving, Route 100 offers a scenic approach through Vermont&rsquo;s countryside, with well-maintained roads and clear signage.
Once you arrive, parking is free and plentiful, with lots near the base area and designated drop-off zones. The resort also offers complimentary shuttle buses between lodging areas and the main base, making it easy to get around without a car. While there&rsquo;s no gondola or snowcat access, the ski-in/ski-out lodging options and direct lift access from the base mean you can be on the slopes within minutes of waking up.
