For me, this is the best ski resort in Oregon. Being in the high desert consistently delivers higher quality snow than Mt. Hood and is larger than any of those resorts. I also prefer the off-piste skiing at Bachelor. The only complaint I could give about the mountain itself is that it can get very windy and make for some visibility issues at mid-mountain and above which leads to lift closures often. I try to go on weekdays, and I can almost always get there in ~30min from Bend. Sometimes if there is a big snow midweek it takes longer as the locals will also go out for the morning laps. Weekends are hit-and-miss. As long as you leave early, it is usually not too bad (no worse than other large resorts on the West coast) but if you are trying to get there between 9-10AM, you will certainly be in over 1hour of traffic during peak season. Those days also tend to have long lift lines. Despite it's size, since most lifts can access a variety of terrain when there lift closures, the lines get long and lots of start/stop of the lift for the beginners - this is probably the biggest drawback. Apres on the mountain is limited, best to just go back to Bend or do some tailgating if the weather is nice! As with all the big ski resorts, prices are getting pretty high which I don't love, but I fear that is on-par with other resorts of similar size...
