Meteorologist Chris Tomer gives us the run down on where will be the snowiest this weekend, 1/7-10/21. The hot spot this weekend is the Pacific Northwest and Intermountain West.  Mostly dry in the Northeast.

Wyoming, Idaho, Montana

Two different storm systems lined-up through Sunday.  These are not major.  Each delivers light to moderate snow accumulation.  The first storm system rolls through on Thursday, and the second between Friday night and Saturday.

Pacific Northwest

Two different storm systems are lined-up through Sunday.  They are not as big as what we saw last week but will keep the snow coming.  Look for a break in the action on Saturday.  I'm forecasting moderate to heavy snow accumulation across the volcanoes and high Cascades.  Look to Baker, Bachelor, and Whistler/Blackcomb.

Banff Area

After an initial surge of snow on Wednesday the pattern really settles down.  Thursday looks like the best chance to ski that new powder at Sunshine, Revelstoke, Fernie, and Kicking Horse.  Additional light snow is possible on Sunday.

Colorado, Utah

Two small storm systems are possible through Sunday.  The first storm system brushes the Central and Northern Mountains of Colorado between Thursday afternoon and Friday morning with light snow accumulation.  The second storm system hits both Utah and Colorado Friday-Saturday.  I'm forecasting light to moderate accumulation across the Wasatch Front, and light snow accumulation in Colorado.

New Mexico

One storm system delivers light snow accumulation between Saturday night and Sunday.

There are a few different storm systems lined-up through Sunday, but the storm track takes them through Northern California.  They could potentially miss or just brush Tahoe and Mammoth.  Look to Shasta for the best chances of snow.

I'm forecasting a mostly dry period through Sunday.  The only exception could be Maine on Friday.

On Friday ski Schweitzer, Big Sky, or Jackson Hole, on Saturday ski Mount Bachelor, Sun Valley, Schweitzer or Jackson Hole, and on Sunday ski Alta, Snowbird, Aspen/Snowmass, Vail or Wolf Creek.
