Heavy snow storms have dumped up to 180cm of fresh snow on the Alps within the last three days.

This week, perfect powder conditions have been reported across Europe - Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and France. Switzerland has seen the most snow in the last 72 hours: 180cm in Vercorin, 120cm in Crans-Montana, and 100cm in Wildhaus, Unterwasser, Lungern-Schoenbuel, Les Marecottes-Salvan, and Filzbach.

More than a metre of fresh snow has also fallen in France, Austria, and Germany over the last three days, including 105cm in Le Corbier, France; 120cm in Hinterstoder, Austria; and 100cm in Grasgehren, Germany.

The snow is still coming down in the Alps and there is no sign of it stopping any time soon. More than 160 powder alarms have already been triggered today - Crans Montana is right now topping the list with 60cm in the last 24 hours.

Another 42-70cm of further snow is forecast within the next five days in Switzerland, Germany, Italy, and France: 70cm in Gstaad, Switzerland; 48cm in am Belchen and Todtnauberg, Germany; 47cm in Courmayeur, Italy; and 42-44cm in La Mongie, Piau Engaly, and Saint Lary Soulan, France.
