With these Alpine Skiing World Cup Finals, the Savoyard resort is making a big come back on the international skiing scene. In the last years, Méribel has successfully organised stages of the Freestyle World Cup and the Telemark World Cup and is keen to show the world its know-how. "We have wonderful memories of the 1992 Winter Olympic Games and are really looking forward to the adrenaline rush that hosting an event like that gives. It is so exciting to see the world's greatest champions competing on our slopes," says Yves Forni from Méribel Tourisme.

Meribel's strengths and assets

Easy access: Méribel is located at 2 hours of Lyon and Geneva airports, 18kms from Moutiers train station. There are regular transfers from the airports, as well as from Moutiers stations, making it a very easy resort to access.

Snow guarantee: 85 percent of the Three Valleys (600km) terrain is above 1,800m and a third of the area is equipped with artificial snow , so good conditions are guaranteed all along the winter.

Olympic resort in 1992: Méribel hosted the women's alpine races as well as the ice hockey matches. The resort's residents were involved in every step of the organisation, before and during the Games.

Specators & media: Spectators will be able to see a large part of the event from the Front de Neige, a two-minute walk from the resort centre. All the media services will be hosted at the Olympic Park, which is located at a few metres from the finishing line.
