Nearby, Axamer Lizum is the largest ski resort on the outskirts of Innsbruck, with more than 40 kilometers of ski runs, including a women’s Olympic downhill run, along with 9 lifts and the Hoadlbahn 10-person gondola. Many of the ski resorts on the SKI plus CITY Pass are perfect for families, too. This includes Hochoetz, which has a number of children’s programs, childcare, snowshoe trails, and activities designed specifically for kids, like the Widi play and slide park. Patscherkofel is Innsbruck’s local mountain, located just 10 minutes away, and known for its legendary Olympic run and the 15,000-square-meter children’s area where young skiers can learn to ski in a fun, playful way. And at Muttereralm, kids and families can enjoy the snowpark and sled down two of the resort’s toboggan runs.

Indy Pass holders can take advantage of the benefit by going to the Innsbruck Tourist Office at Burggraben or the ticket window of any participating resort (with the exception of Nordkette). It all makes for a one-of-a-kind way to experience some of the best of Austria’s world-renowned ski terrain.

Experience the Best of Innsbruck 

The SKI plus CITY Pass is more than just a ski pass though. It also unlocks access to tons of amazing attractions and activities in and around Innsbruck. Highlights include Old Town’s Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl), adorned with its 2,657 firegilded copper shingles. The Golden Roof Museum also features modern exhibits and activities for kids. Another attraction on the pass, the Imperial Palace, which is just a short 3-minute walk from the Golden Roof, is considered one of the most important imperial palaces in Austria. While you’re in Old Town, don’t miss the City Tower, which you can climb to the top of to look out over Innsbruck.  

Other attractions on the SKI plus CITY Pass are among some of Austria’s most iconic places to visit. This includes the Swarovski Crystal Worlds in nearby Wattens. Swarovski Crystal Worlds is a dazzling display of crystals, artwork, and architecture unlike anywhere else. After a full day of skiing or exploring Innsbruck, visitors can unwind at the StuBay water park and pool facility, home to a 25-meter sports pool, family pool, hot tub, high-speed slide, and more. Pass holders can enjoy up to four hours at the 5,000-square-meter facility. All total, the SKI plus CITY Pass gives travelers access to 23 attractions across the Innsbruck region. In addition to transportation on buses that run to all 12 ski areas, the pass also includes access to the hop-on hop-off Sightseer bus that makes stops at Innsbruck’s top attractions.  

How to Purchase and Use the SKI plus CITY Pass 

The SKI plus CITY Pass is available for purchase from ticket offices at participating lifts and cable cars, as well as distribution partners across Innsbruck, including local hotels. The price depends on your age and how many days you plan to use the pass for. Once you’ve purchased your pass, make sure to keep it on you for entry onto buses and into attractions.
