Angel Fire Resort’s terrain is spread across 560 acres, offering a vertical drop of 2,077 feet and a summit elevation of 10,677 feet. The mountain is known for its approachable layout, allowing skiers of all levels to explore without feeling restricted. With 86 trails and 7 lifts, the resort provides a balanced mix of groomed runs, tree skiing, and freestyle features. Snowmaking covers key areas, ensuring reliable conditions throughout the season.

Beginners will find plenty of gentle terrain near the base, especially around the Southwest Flyer and the beginner zone accessed by the magic carpets. Runs like Headin’ Home and Easy Street offer wide, forgiving slopes perfect for learning. The ski school operates out of the base area, making it easy for families to coordinate lessons and rentals.

Intermediate skiers can explore the front side of the mountain, where runs like Hells Bells and Exhibition offer smooth descents with moderate pitch. These trails are well-groomed and provide a great balance of challenge and comfort. The Chile Express lift serves much of this terrain, offering quick access to mid-mountain zones.

Advanced terrain is concentrated on the backside, where runs like Baa-Da-Bing and Minder Binder deliver steeper pitches and natural features. These areas are less trafficked and offer a more technical experience. Tree skiing is available in designated zones, with 30 acres of gladed terrain for those seeking variety.

Expert skiers can test their skills on the resort’s steepest runs, including C-4, which features a 1,000-foot vertical drop and requires a short hike from the lift. While only 3% of the terrain is rated expert, it’s enough to challenge seasoned skiers looking for a thrill. These runs are best tackled in fresh snow conditions and good visibility.

Freestyle riders will enjoy four terrain parks: Liberation Park, Sweet Street, Tank 9, and Night Rider. Liberation Park is the largest, featuring jumps, rails, boxes, and dancefloors with varying takeoffs and launch angles. Sweet Street offers banked turns and rollers, while Tank 9 is ideal for warming up or finishing the day. Night Rider operates during night skiing and includes a hike-up setup with rails and a quarter pipe.

The longest run, Headin’ Home, stretches 3 miles from summit to base, offering a scenic descent through forested slopes and open ridgelines. With 27.3 miles of skiable terrain, Angel Fire Resort provides a diverse mountain experience that caters to families, beginners, and advanced skiers alike.
