Waterville Valley’s terrain is spread across 265 acres and features 62 trails, offering 21.4 miles of skiable terrain. The mountain’s summit rises to 4004 feet, with a vertical drop of 2020 feet and a base elevation of 1984 feet. Snowmaking covers most of the resort, ensuring consistent conditions throughout the season. The longest run stretches 1.9 miles, giving skiers a chance to enjoy extended descents with scenic views.

Beginners will appreciate the learning area near the base, where gentle slopes and surface lifts make it easy to get started. Trails like Lower Oblivion and Pasture are ideal for building confidence, and the ski school offers tailored instruction for all ages. The layout allows families to stay connected while exploring different zones.

Intermediate skiers have the most to explore, with over half the mountain dedicated to blue terrain. Popular runs like Tippecanoe and Valley Run offer smooth carving and varied pitch, while the High Country area provides elevated views and quieter slopes. The resort’s grooming team keeps these trails in top shape, making them a favorite for all-day cruising.

Advanced skiers can test their skills on steeper terrain like True Grit and Ciao, which offer sustained vertical and natural features. These runs are accessible via the White Peaks Express and provide a satisfying challenge without being overly technical. The resort’s terrain parks also include advanced features for freestyle riders looking to push their limits.

Expert terrain is limited but rewarding. Runs like Gema and Lower Bobby’s offer tight lines and steep drops, best tackled in fresh snow conditions. These areas are less trafficked and provide a more secluded experience for those seeking intensity.

Freestyle skiers and snowboarders will enjoy the five terrain parks, including Exhibition and Psyched. Each park is designed with progression in mind, featuring jumps, rails, and boxes for all skill levels. The parks are maintained daily and offer a creative outlet for riders looking to mix up their day.
