We have been proud to provide you with free access to snow reports, resort guides and more, and we are beyond grateful for your readership and contributions to our community over the years.

Unfortunately given the changing media landscape, Mountain News Corporation has experienced financial declines in recent years. With additional economic challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic now facing our business, it is not financially viable to continue operating.

Mountain News Corporation and our OnTheSnow and Skiinfo websites will be shutting down. We will explore the possibility of selling, partnering, or contributing assets to another media outlet if there is an opportunity to allow for a consistent or enhanced online experience. On Sat, many of the trails were icy and skied off (especially, Bear Mtn) but Moat and Spillway were notable exceptions with good snow.

While icy in places, there were pockets of powder to be exploited. Moat and Spillway were very good and the other trails were scratchy but skiable.

Based on the last thoughtless report I felt like I needed to let people know what the conditions are really like...after I finish skiing today. Stay tuned. And ignore the troll!

Rain and sleet on Tuesday wasn't helpful. Conditions are, shall we say, firm. Bear Peak wasn't too bad. Attitash in the afternoon, uh ....

Most connecting trails are closed, the open "48" all connect to each other, so really only 2-3 options from the top of a chairlift. Not management's fault, just needs more snow. Trails that are open are decent packed snow.

Why is the chairlift so slow? They need to invest some money into that. I spent 3/4 of my day on it. I won’t be back anytime soon.
