This is one of those amazing, special places that you will want to return to. We make the five hour drive from Big Sky a few times each winter, timing the trip to coincide with powder--since TP is only open Friday-Monday. Great runs off the double chair, and the No Name area is simply incredible, medium angle powder skiing--much of it through burned trees. And for those with backcountry skills, you can hike above the lift and hit various lines for even more freshies. The scenery is spectacular--you are literally right up against the Rocky Mountain Front and the Bob Marshall Wilderness. Great apres ski bar with some of the best food around. Choteau is a funky little town, pure small town Montana. The Stage Stop Inn is the place to stay, with a pool and hot tub--great for the kids. If you want real Montana skiing and adventure, you can't get much better than Teton Pass.
