Overview

The Omni Homestead Resort is home to The Homestead Ski Slopes. Located in Virginia's Allegheny Mountains about two hours outside of Charlottesville, the resort is a perfect place for skiing, snowboarding or a family getaway.

Renowned in the area as the perfect family and learn-to-ski area, The ski resort was recognized by Liftopia with a Best in Snow Award in the category of ‘Beginner Friendly and Family Friendly’ in 2017-18.

Where is the Omni Homestead Ski Resort Located?

The nearest airports are Roanoke (1 hour 40 minutes), Shenandoah Valley (1 hour 30 minutes), Charlottesville (2 hours) and Dulles International Airport (3 hours and 30 minutes).

The resort’s accommodations are as inviting as its setting. You can choose to stay in the romantic, couple’s only hotel; a family-friendly resort hotel; a North Country lodge; or an historic inn. There are privately owned homes and condominiums with one to five bedrooms – with convenient ski-in / ski-out access.

Dinner

  • The Dining Room at Omni Homestead Resort has won a few regional awards and is a must. The restaurant provides a classic dining experience with a refined, seasonal cuisine. Terrain

The Homestead Ski Slopes Terrain

There are 10 trails (9 downhill ski runs) at the ski resort that range from beginner to intermediate, served by 2 lifts. The resort averages 50 inches of snowfall and 100 days skiable. With a summit of 3,200ft, the mountain offers 700 feet of vertical drop. The longest run is 4,200 feet.

The ski area consists of more than 45 acres of well-maintained trails perfect for all ability levels. The Omni Homestead is proud to offer the only Rossignol Experience Center in the Southeast. It also has an Olympic-size ice rink at the base of the slopes. Sepp Kober Ski School is available for all ages and levels.

Inside Scoop

The Omni Homestead Resort offers a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. Inside the historic building visitors can take a tour, enjoy the game vault, see a movie in the theater or partake in a southern social hour. There are also summer activities, including fly fishing, swimming, shooting and equestrian.
