Reviews for Breckenridge
A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
For some reason, maybe a lack of staff, they were not making much snow and only a portion of the slopes were open, even those that looked like they should be open were closed. Only one of the food stops on the slopes was open. Despite that limitation in space they sold slope passes beyond capacity. They even had a program running that brought in thousands of fraternity and sorority kids on a deep discount. I have never seen a high-end resort that crowded and the lines that long and with the decision to give teenagers a week of accommodations, rentals, and ski passes for $1000, it created an unpleasant and unsafe situation. I had heard good things about Breck. It was my first time. I will not be returning. ... Full Review
After finishing 2 days at Vail, it was really nice to have some steady greens runs without the catwalks. For beginner skiers, there are a lot of good choices of trails to improve your ski style and then head a little higher on the mountain for great blue trails. The lifts are older but do the job. The outdoor bar/eating area at the base of Peak 8 is great to sip on a beer and enjoy the sun. We found the expert help with the employees with the Red coats to be extremely knowledgeable. Another good resource on the trails is on YouTube, BreckSnowPro. I will be back next year.... Full Review

We are Epic Pass holders for many years & very happy with the efforts of the resort and town for thier commitment in keeping guests safe during the pandemic. Staff were enforcing mask wearing & always asked if we were OK with sharing a lift with others beforehand, lines were longer at certain times due to the reduced amount of guests going on each chairlift as expected due to safety procedures. The restaurants in town did a great job of contact tracing and making us feel safe. We witnessed other guests that were just rude and more concerned about thier rights of being inconvenienced which was a shame knowing that there's a pandemic going on and not realizing how fortunate they are just to be able to ski at this amazing resort & town during this difficult period in time. ... Our family of 6 visited for Spring Break. It was crowded but manageable. Just stay away from the base lifts. We were staying near the Snowflake lift so we never had to wait long to get on the mountain. Once up, you can take the Peak 8 Super or C-Chair to the top all day with very little wait. Main Street is a great part of town. So many shops and restaurants to visit after the lifts close. Can be expensive but buy your lift tickets early to save half of what you would spend once the season starts. ... Full Review
We have always loved coming to Breck all year round. We have season passes for snowboarding and come in the summer to hike and camp. Our whole family has had COVID and we are vaccinated as health care professionals. We were very disappointed that people were being yelled at on the lifts OUTSIDE for having their masks below their nose. One person questioned this and the worker threw her gloves to the ground and screamed that she would kick him out! Really?? We are paying thousands of dollars to come up & this is how people are being treated? No thanks. We will now be going elsewhere and will pass on this experience to others. Oh and also... I was trying to watch my children who were in lessons and accidentally went in the wrong door and instead of letting me walk throughout to the other side of the room while wearing a mask I was told that I would need to carry my stroller with my baby up 20 stairs. Nice and safe. ... Full Review
Epic Headache: I bought two of the Epic Passes for a University of Illinois Winter Ski Trip to Vail. The University canceled the trip due to COVID. I have not received a refund, and now have received a letter stating that Epic Coverage did not cover the cancellation. I have never been able to reach anyone by phone. Literally sitting on the phone for hours. I spent a lot of time putting together the information that documented the canceled trip. Still the letter says it is not refundable. Now I have contacted Citibank my credit card company to see what they can do. I have taken 2 other ski trips and used the Epic card. My advice, do not buy in advance and do not trust the "Epic Coverage" for COVID refunds.... Full Review
Wish they would open upper peak 6 and 8, otherwise we'll vacation to copper mtn.... Full Review
It been a dry winter in CO in general - we've been here most of the month of January, I can can count on two fingers the days we've gotten snow. Not gonna lie - It's been rough - a lot of ice. But we got 4" the other day and that made for some decent tracks. I love the mountain - it's got terrain for everyone, easy to get around and there are plenty of covid precautions in place. I don't blame the locals - if they get shutdown, the season is over and very hard to remain in business. Wear your mask, and be happy - we are skiing!... Full Review
Our family just did 5 Colorado ski areas and Break was the least in our comfort zone( the only Epic ski area we skied this trip)... Break is part of the Epic pass group... There was no safety practices in place that were enforced that we experienced... They have a singles line which when we asked to protect our family and ride alone, it was not accepted well by their management... All 4 of the other areas we skied were making sure masks were enforced above the nose and restricted the lifts to be only of your own party and no-one else... It also the day we were there did not have the 25% rule in place ( wicked long lines with no 6 feet apart rule at all...I would stay clear of the practices we saw at the epic pass areas till the Covid passes... If you have a epic pass ( which had I carried Vail passes since the 70's (Vail Vally Pass) and dropped in recent times, I encourage you to contact them for your own safety... It seems that they don't care about you, But don't care about the BUCKS$$...THINK SNOW... Full Review
