My partner and I visited for the first time yesterday. It was a 1.75 HR drive for us to get there. The traffic up the one way road was not great. As you near the resort you will see many many cars parked along the side of the road doing their own sledding. These people are not cheap, these people are smart. (As you will see). So we got up there around 10 am. At this time 2/3 resorts were sold out. "Luckily" for us the East resort still had like 30 tickets for the 2:45pm sledding. So we paid our $20 parking and sat in the car until it was time for us to sled. The other options while waiting are pay $20 per person to play in the snow, Or eat overpriced food. Literally that's it. If you leave the parking lot, you will have to pay again to return. Also there are signs posted everywhere about no refunds. Probably because so many people want refunds. The way they have the tube run set up is that you have a hill that ends overlooking Victorville with one net to catch you. However they have like 20 yoga sized mat carpets to slow the tubes as they teach the end. Every time one of those mats gets messed up they will stop flow of all, or most, of the lanes to slowly fix them. Even the workers sending tubes down were saying we should get more time due to continued stopped flow. Someone asked the manager if we could have an extra 15 minutes and he said no. We started out with 6 Lanes. People were flying past the carpets into the safety net almost every run. ( Just to clarify, past the one safety net is a steep one way trip to Victorville) Each time they would stop sledding, recover the person, and redo the mats. In a two hour time slot we got to go 3 times. We were in line for a fourth time. As we were there second to last to go with no one in line behind us.. the clock stuck 4:45 they basically said "sucks to be you" and stopped sending people. Super glad I waited in line another 15 minutes to be told to leave. Traffic getting off the mountain was absolutely terrible, because everyone is leaving at that time. TLDR: This was literally an all day trip for us, we spent $90 on parking and tubing. For 3 tube runs. Save yourself time and enjoyment and just buy your own sleds and park on the side of the road. Absolutely not worth it.
