Massive ski area with tons of variety for all types of skiers. The famed Utah powder this area receives is the icing on the cake. From California, my family typically skis Tahoe. The skiing experience at Park City is definitely a cut above California's. The town of Park City is great. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping to choose from. Airport accessibility makes it easy and inexpensive to get to. Ever book a ticket to Telluride or Jackson? Or slogged through the mountains from Denver, Vancouver or San Francisco to get to the skiing? On the flip side, mountain access at the base areas is poor. This is especially true at the Park City Mountain base. Lifts are poorly laid out here. It is a long uphill walk to Crescent and Payday access lifts from the parking lot. There are lifts more convenient to the parking lot; but they only act as access lifts to the access lifts. Furthermore, they are choked(I mean CHOKED) with ski school. The Canyons base is not much better. There, an access lift takes skiers from the parking lot to the access lifts in the village. So another access lift to access the access lifts. Of course if you stay at the Park City Mountain base or Canyons Village, access will not be a problem. On mountain dining is expensive(typical of Vail Resorts). I gave my kids $20 at the day lodge. They came back with two pathetically SMALL cartons of french fries. Cost=$16.85. Overall this is a great place to ski. It skis much bigger than Big Sky(Went in 2017). Park City has much better weather than Whistler, unless you prefer fog. It has better snow quality than Lake Tahoe and Whistler. It is easier to get to than just about anywhere else you care to name. Finally, the town of Park City itself is is a top notch ski town. I recommend this ski area for families and ski bums alike.
