The run the mountain like a carnival. You have to stand in like to get tickets for skiing, lessons, even tubing. The system is an embarrassment to someone with a brain. The snow and trails are poor and the lines are very long, filled with majority inexperienced skiiers. Unless you want to torture yourself - avoid Sugar Mountain. ... Full Review

Had a great time on a weekend night over The holiday between Christmas and New Year’s. Timed it just right with it being super cold several days where they made lots of snow and then it warmed up right when I got up there and night skied and it was 30° and wasn’t crowded at all perfect place for me to practice my tricks take my time and, dial my gear in, and have some fun four hrs. I’m so glad I night skied, when I was arriving @ 5pm there must’ve been a 2 mile line out of that place with people walking down the road etc. were they parked their car a mile away. ... Full Review

Good slopes for beginners, however, overcrowded with private lessons, schools and other people so becomes extremely stressful when you ski with small kids. Lines everywhere. XMAS TIME is crazy. If you want to book a private lesson you need to be in the line at 6.30 am and may still not get it. Impossible to get a spot for a full day ski school for kids. Crazy lines everywhere, ticketing selling system is from middle ages. 20 min line to get on the lift. They charge crazy money for passes and have a feeling they are not improving and investing in this place at all. Big shame. We will try to go back when there is fewer people. It was OK but super stressful skiing with 2 small kids.... Full Review

First trip with no expectations. Very crowded and not well organized. Tried tubing when ski hill was overcrowded. Really goofy system of having to stand in line for hours for tix. I really wanted to like it because it is in a pretty area, but I won't be going back. I just think their are some better values out there.... Full Review

2 hour line to get slope passes. Had snow making machines on all day which blinded you even with goggles. Hope in the night session would be better, but power was out for an hour and a half. Which happens. But all sales are final so too bad. Finally got sick of it and left four people with slope passes rentals and food around $450. Money could have been spent better on another mountain... Full Review

This has been a hugely busy season at Sugar, with lots of newcomers who are not flying this season but will make the drive. For the most part, the staff have done a good job of enforcing mask rules. The ski patrol has someone at the main chair loading maze almost all day every day advising people to cover up before they enter the line. I've been skiing at Sugar for many years, and this year has been like no other. That is probably true at every ski resort, but each independent place has to figure stuff out on its own. I think Sugar has been vigilant in enforcing COVID restrictions, although I would not ride the shuttle bus for reasons pointed out in other reviews. Walk. ... Full Review

I rode the lift six times. A ski patrol person was policing for masking on only one of my lift rides. The other five times there was no one and 50% at best were properly wearing masks. There was no (NONE) social distancing on the fully packed chairs. The shuttle bus driver did not enforce the mask policy if there was one. Half of the passengers had no mask. I can’t say I will return. Sugar has a laissez faire attitude regarding Covid and public safety. Disappointing at best. ... Full Review

Let's just say they need to learn how to talk to people. The security is young and green and chased my son from the slopes into the lodge he retreated to me like he was told to do . he accidentally vered of out of bounds. He is new at snowboarding and it was a accident.. The security officer put his life in danger by chasing him and telling him. He was going to remove his ski pass. It was his last run for the day and we were finished.. not to mention we couldn't ski the day before too crowded and came back the next day. First of all you do not take someone's property nor chase them and put them at risk the security staff was very unprofessional. He was out of breath and clearly disoriented during the persut of a scared young man. And other member bark at you to where a mask outside .. ! Any who is a father this may have turned out badly.. do not threatened my family to remove there property or cause them to get hurt running from you. The staff needs some retraining on respect. Ps the Bar staff intervened and did a great job in extinguishing the issues. ... Full Review

I have been skiing for over 40 years and have never experienced anything like my interaction with this resort. The management was incredibly rude. I have never written a bad review of any business in my entire life but as a business owner myself I felt compelled to do my part and tell customers to stay away from this resort. Hopefully the resort can get a good management team in the future because the location is really nice but the experience is terrible. The end to the story was we couldn’t even go skiing that day because of serious coordination issues. There was no parking and they oversold tickets (we bought ours the night before with no refund). By the way this was during COVID where there was supposed to be some type of limit on ticket sales yet they couldn’t even handle the parking for the “limited” tickets sold. Something doesn’t add up???? If you are in the area I recommend going to one of the other great options!!... Full Review
