Salt Lake City is a perfect place for first-time visitors, powder chasers, and families. As the largest city in the state, it has plenty to do on and off the mountain. Sure, the resorts aren’t within walking distance, but where else can you catch the last chair and a sports game, symphony performance, or family evening at the museum?
Park City – Utah’s Definitive Ski Town
When you think of ski towns, Park City probably crosses your mind. This is Utah’s traditional ski town, where two world-class resorts (Deer Valley and Park City Mountain) neighbor the always-buzzing historic Main Street. Utah’s newest resort, Woodward Park City, is less than half an hour away.

Ogden – Utah’s Gritty Ski Town
Only half an hour north of Salt Lake City lies the historic, adventurous city of Ogden. What was once one of Utah’s most notorious destinations has exploded into a basecamp for thrill-seekers. Powder Mountain, Snowbasin, and Nordic Valley are the closest resorts, standing over the Ogden Valley just east of the city.
