Toyota is bringing the energy, beats, and some of the nation’s best freeskiers and freeriders to Breckenridge for the Toyota Big Mountain Challenge March 6-8. The Toyota Big Mountain Challenge takes over Breckenridge Ski Resort with a full weekend of competitions, music, film, on-mountain experiences, and more. While it’s historically been known as a freeride competition, the event has expanded into an all-out mountain festival, with activities and entertainment for all ages spread across the resort over three days.
Headlining the weekend are the IFSA 2* and 3* freeride qualifiers, where some of America’s top freeskiers and freeriders take on Breckenridge’s legendary Six Senses terrain. These high-stakes competitions on Friday and Saturday bring big lines, steep drops, and technical riding to some of Breck’s most formidable terrain. But that’s just the beginning of the weekend’s great events. See the full schedule below.
Friday: Freeriding By Day, Warren Miller By Night
Friday kicks off with the first day of the Big Mountain Challenge, as freeskiers and freeriders throw down on Peak 6 in the Six Senses. As the day winds down, the action turns to après. T-Bar, one of America’s most iconic ski bars, will be amping up the energy with a DJ set from 3-6 p.m. by Don Fuego. Meanwhile, film buffs can head to The Maggie Kitchen & Taphouse at the base of Peak 9 for swag giveaways, food and drink specials, and a screening of Warren Miller’s “SNO-CIETY” from 4-6 p.m.
Saturday: Big Mountain Riding, Music, And Après Fun
On Saturday, the Big Mountain Challenge continues to deliver with its action-packed competition on Peak 6. Toyota will keep the vibes high with live music, après parties, and DJ sets, including a mountaintop set from Ship Wrek at The Overlook on Peak 9. The Overlook will transform into a one-of-a-kind après party with high-energy beats and drink specials set to the backdrop of Breck’s stunning mountain views. As the day winds down, T-Bar will again be the place to be from 3-6 p.m. with a DJ set by Littlefoot. Over at The Maggie, Jeff Kingery will be playing music from 3-6 p.m.
Toyota Activations Across Breck
Toyota will be amping up the fun with activations and events all weekend long. The Toyota Music Den at the base of Peak 9 will keep music going every day, while The Overlook will feature a photobooth, swag, and more. Toyota will also be popping up around the mountain with giveaways and special surprises. Want to get in on the action yourself? Skiers and riders can test their skills on the Toyota Banked Slalom course on Peak 8.
