Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is synonymous with legendary terrain, iconic steeps, deep snow, and the type of destination ski resort experience that you can’t find anywhere else. But while it’s known for such incredible terrain for advanced skiers, including world-famous runs like Corbet’s Couloir and 3,000-plus acres of backcountry, it’s also a great ski destination for families. Families will find it all here—whether it’s the amazing Mountain Sports School with its terrain-based learning, the vibrant village and fun events, or easy access to incredible adventures in nearby Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Let us show you how to make family memories in Jackson Hole.

Ski Experiences For The Whole Family

Jackson Hole’s reputation may be built on its expert terrain, but parents will quickly discover that it’s every bit as extraordinary for families. Beginners and intermediates can start with a ride on the Sweetwater Gondola, Jackson Hole’s newest gondola. Jackson Hole’s beginner terrain can be accessed a third of the way up at Solitude Station, while those with more experience can continue just uphill of Casper Restaurant to the resort’s intermediate terrain. Many of Jackson Hole’s blue runs are adjacent to steep runs, so that parents can alternate taking runs down steeper pitches.

If you have young kids, be sure to check out the Kids’ Adventure Map: A guide to secret kid-only trails like Princess Woods, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, and the Daily Drop. As they explore hidden gems and playful parks, they can check off each spot, collect stickers, earn prizes, and naturally progress their skiing and riding along the way.

Are you or your family first-time skiers? There’s no better place to learn thanks to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s Mountain Sports School. Its personalized, terrain-based learning approach and breadth of programs ensures that both new and experienced skiers and riders have the best day possible on the mountain. The Mountain Sports School offers it all—from fun adult group lessons and kids’ seasonal programs to youth lessons, private instruction, and multi-day camps.

The Mountain Sports School also offers tons of experiences that are unique to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, including guided backcountry tours, a Ski with an Olympian offering, and one of the most progressive adaptive programs in the country. Jackson Hole’s Mountain Sports School even offers one-on-one nanny care—for children ages 5 months to 36 months—so that parents can enjoy a carefree day on the slopes.

What To Do Off The Slopes

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s slopes are just the beginning of the incredible winter adventures for kids and families. Families can continue the fun in the Teton Village Commons by playing on the Snow Castle or going ice skating on the outdoor rink. Get après-ski going at the family-friendly Tram Dock, located at the base of the aerial tram in the heart of Teton Village. Or, for a unique on-mountain, family-friendly dining experience, take the Bridger Gondola up to Piste Mountain Bistro for dinner to the backdrop of incredible views (reservations required). When you’re on the mountain during the day, don’t miss Corbet’s Cabin, located at the top of the Tram at 10,450′. Kids and adults alike love it for the amazing panoramic views and equally amazing waffles.

Jackson really shines with extraordinary kid-friendly adventures that you can have in no other ski destination. Go on a snowy horse-drawn sleigh ride alongside elk at the National Elk Refuge, take a wildlife tour or snowmobile excursion in Grand Teton National Park or Yellowstone National Park, or go fat tire biking or snowshoeing.
